Dear All

Thanks for your different updates

Marina – I have finally got a bank account in Norway so you can use that one. I got the letter today but it is so fancy that I do not completely understand what is the account number, but I will call the bank about it Monday.
It is with Netbanking meaning I can transfer to the teams master card, pay the house rent from it etc.

The moss group does not have internet but I got their results via phone.
I know they had a very good day yesterday and today the forest was not so good.
The customer from Holland who complained a lot some days ago, called the company today and said that the moss now is VERY good – so Christian – the boss nr 2 brought cake and also phoned me and told that we do a good work now. He also told that soon they have delivered all the trucks of moss they promised to the customer, and that Christian has agreed with Claus – boss nr 1, that he shall not sell the moss anymore before it is picked. So hopefully all the moss chaos will stop. I also asked him for how long he thinks the work will be, and he says that they can sell, so we can pick until frost will hinder it.
Romas is now employed pr hour to drive all the pallets. I think that is good, since that can make the work easier for everyone.
We are picking together with Kerli from DNS 2012 and 2 from Lindersvold. Today 3 more from Lindersvold should have come and Sunday 4 from Holsted, but they do not come since they now have job in a green house, so we miss very much people since Natalya is at study weekend and Zane is ill.
Suddenly everybody has job here. Holsted called me today and asked if we could come to the green house too, since more was needed, but we obviously cannot since we still have to deliver the moss.

Tvind is fine but empty since the villas are in St Vincent and PTG in Moss.

But today DNS 2010 started study weekend. They seems very fine and create life.

Next Wednesday a girl comes for prep weekend for DNS 2011 and she has around 5000 euro so if she enroll she will not harm the economy.
And Thursday another girl will come, but she only has 700 euro, so she will come for DNS 12 most likely, but she will start saving up now if she enrol, and if she can find a solution she wants DS 2011.

But none of them has been here before, so let us see

Many greetings to all
 Anne Hoejholt

Earlier I wrote about a Christmas job. From the moss group they have told that Buza, Eszter, Peter and Lauritta want the work so far.

18.11.2011 - From Germany

Hi,

Today we had a long day. We collected more than 1 ton of clothes and we had a small problem with the Van (the GPS was not charging because of some electrical problems) and we had to go in service to fix it. Now we are about to prepare some dinner :)...and we feel tired (especially Laura who is a littler bit cold).

Greetings,

Munster girls

17.11.2011 - From Norway

So work is up and down, we are quite until we get a christmas party in then the whole restaurant is packed full! the Kitchen is a toasty 35c but outside is not and this is why i asked for a bus pass i leave work around 23h and it is bloody cold, the paths are icey and the bike is not safe at that time of night. it is a 45 min walk home from work and thats too much. seeing no one objected to me buying a bus pass for my self this is now what i am going to do, i can get to work today. best thing about my day yesterday (apart from coming home to Pebbles :) ) was Mark my head chef telling me, he has never known a chef to be so tidy at work!
the 12th is no good for me to come to the meeting :( i have a block of 4 days off starting the 10th and ending the 13th if that can be aranged??

Some tips from a DNS'er 2006

Hello DNS 2011,

My name is Daniel Arendzen. I am from DNS 2006 and after graduation I left to Thailand to teach. But now I am back in Tvindland for some time. Susanne asked me to help her with the website.
That's also the reason that I am writing to you.

I am making your personal introducions about you for the webpage. I use the text that you already have written (I steal it from your blog if you don't mind). That is also for your pictures.
From some people, Zane Vevere for example, I don't have a nice picture.

I know that you are all very busy and tired, still, it would be of a great help if you could send me a picture that I can use for the website. For the time being it will be a picture that I find on your blog (or no picture if I don't have one).

Thank you!

And! I wish you a productive saving up! I know that (long) saving up periods can be difficult and that they can be very demotivating. Often you tend to think at the moment and you don't see the that and what you actually are learning.
I have learned that it is very important to think and act as a team, eventhough that you are at different places and not together. If you are having fun, most likely others are too and it is easy to share. If you are having doubts or when things are difficult, most likely others feel the same but it is not easy to share. Why? I don't know... But, as a football player once said, every disadvantage has its advantage ;-) In other words find the good things in each situation, it doesn't matter what you find.

What in DNS2006 used to work was to begin the day together, eat together, have lunch together and end the day together. Someone can make a cup of tee or coffee in the evenings, have a snack, play cards, scrabble,...,..., anything. During our last saving up we had a waterpipe and we were singing songs! These are small things, but they can be things to look forward to. It is not about 'liking' playing cards, it is about setting your mind on something else and have something nice to do. That keeps the spirit up!

Okay. Just food for thought!

Many greetings,
 Daniel

17.11.2011 - From Germany

Hi guys,

Today we had a not so exhausted day. We had to clean the warehouse and then we went with Antonio to FINALLY pick up our own Van. After that Laura and me we had time to collect clothes from 2 containers which were full (400 kg of clothes both) and we wanted to collect another one, but was already dark outside and Antonio said to come home and collect it in another day (when it is dark outside it is quite impossible to see what is in the container and separate garbage from clothes - unfortunately some people throw a lot of garbage/rubbish in a place where they should put only clothes/shoes). Its quite cold here too, minus degrees in night and icy in morning and during the day there are 2-3 degrees.

See you
Daniela

We've set you some photos with the warehouse ..cleaned :)))

17.11.2011 - From Tvind

Dear DNS 2011

In the meeting in Loevdal we decided to meet in 14 days. I discussed with Steve and he think he can get off if we decide in good time. It would be very good. And maybe we could also get our girls from Germany?

Then we could also sign the enrolment papers for OWU. They are asking when we start and who we are. We have provided them with a list of all your names and educational back ground and told that we will start end January, beginning February and that we will decide when we meet.
We are now signing the partnership agreement with them and a tutor agreement and we have received the enrolment papers you shall sign.

We think we shall meet in Tvind.
The moss group is at the moment picking moss very close to Tvind, so this time it would be best to meet here. This is also more close to Germany. If the Norway group could take a ferry Sunday evening and then some one could pick them up Monday morning so the meeting could start Monday 12. And then I guess the Norway group shall go back Wednesday morning – there should be a morning ferry as far as I know.

Until then we shall stick close together even if we are apart.
I visited the moss group yesterday. They seem very fine. And the e-mails from Norway seems like things are moving there too. And Germany seems steady. Thanks Daniela for your different updates.

As Steve wrote it is nice to know what each others are doing and for a while there was mainly moss boxes at the group mail.

And a group e-mail can actually be a wonderful way to communicate. We are in the lucky situation that we all have internet.

We suggest that each group everyday write a short update – it does not have to be long, but we need to feel how each others are.

We suggest that each group every day send 3 things

  1. Your results – and then I out them in the overview, so we can see if we together reach the goal.
  2. The story of the day – something good which happened
  3. The problem of the day – and if it was solved or if not we can maybe help each other with solutions ( I think Steve immediately should get a bus pass, so he does not get sick)
  4. Something else you find important.

Aproximately like this – be creative and add or moderate.

The persons in the groups can take turn in writing (except the ones who are only one: Nora, mette, Zane) – or the same can write, or more can write or...

It is very important that we know how things are.

And for the Norway group – I would like to call you. You are somehow in the most demanding situation since you do not have steady jobs.
Will you send me your phone numbers?

I somehow thought it would be good that one of the teachers went to you at least for some time – but at the moment we cannot move from the moss.

The moss battle is still not won even if it goes better.
It goes so well for the man that he has sold a lot of moss, and now he/we cannot produce it. So the company is a bit on the arse – and since we are part of this – we are a bit too, we simply need a lot of moss

How about this way of sticking together?

Looking forward to hear from you

Many greetings
 Anne Hoejholt

15.11.2011 - From Germany

Hi guys,

How are you doing? Laura and me, we found out from Romas and Natalia about what you all discussed at the meeting you had in weekend and we think it was very good that so many serious issues were discussed and concluded.
In Germany we are working different things:
- 2 days back we collected 1,5 tons of clothes from containers and downloaded 1 ton in the warehouse (what we collected previous day)... so we had a long and exhausted day;
- yesterday we downloaded the 1,5 tons and collected another 800 kg;
- today we market the containers with serial numbers, had downloaded clothes in warehouse too and we were suppose to upload them in the big truck to be transported from here, but the truck didn't show up, so maybe we will do it tomorrow or next week;.

Our Van will arrive tomorrow, finally!

we attach some pics for our blog. Today we went for a run after we came home and Laura took some original photos with the camera (we sent the best of them for our blog too).

Hugs from Laura and me to all
